Biography
A voice between two traditions
Emanuele Schillaci trained at the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome and at the Accademia Internazionale di Imola, graduating with full marks and honors with a thesis on Villa-Lobos, and studied in Rio de Janeiro with Marcus Tardelli. His recitals have taken him to the Vatican Museums, the Auditorium Parco della Musica, Sala Casella and MAXXI in Rome, the Istituto Italiano di Cultura in Bratislava, and — in Brazil — Casa do Chôro, Sala Leopoldo Miguez and the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro. In 2024 he recorded three original pieces with the composer Guinga in Rio de Janeiro, later performed as part of Guinga's concert at JazzB, São Paulo. His original compositions for solo guitar have been published as the score Guitar Works (Da Vinci Edition, 2024) and recorded on the album 10°00' Sud – 55°00' Ovest (2R), and in 2026 he is a finalist at the Natasha International Fingerstyle Competition.
